Wikipedia wouldn't lie.
Apparently, sighthounds (like Saluki Suzi above), can have a peripheral vision of approximately 270 degrees.
That's an advantage over most other dogs with 250 degrees. And certainly more than us humans with 180.
Sighthounds (think Whippet, Greyhound, Afghan Hound, Borzoi etc) have been bred specially so the eyes are set slightly wider apart. This genetic advantage makes them great hunting companions.
I'm not aware of Suzi's hunting prowess. But she is especially good at spotting random pieces of litter scattered in the park.
I had the great privilege of Beagles in my life for many years. They were equally adept at finding rubbish.
Was it in the eyes? Or was that the Hound in them? A combination of these features? Perhaps my rubbish training.
