D&H Double Twist double Dog Lead

Our rolled leather dog lead but doubled, and twisted.

Made of soft European leather in a range of colour options, solid brass or nickel-plated brass fittings.

Suitable for medium and large breeds.

The internal core of our lead is a specially-made pre-stretched polyester rope (6mm or 8mm) with a breakage point in the hundreds of kilograms. The rope (around which we wrap, glue, stitch the soft leather) is also ideal for marine use and won't rot therefore if it gets wet.

How to Order

Choose from the available selection or see below to choose your own colours. Please note, the colour options described as follows:

Black Yellow Brass = one strand is black, the other strand is yellow, the trigger hook is brass

Medium Plus or Big Dog version

Choose from our Medium Plus lead (6mm internal core and standard trigger hook) or our Big Dog version (with heavy-duty trigger hook). Not suitable for small dogs (the lead is substantial).

Bespoke (choose your own colours)

Please contact us directly for your own bespoke lead. You can email hello@dogsandhorses.co.uk with your Order Number OR also leave instructions during checkout (you will see a field for this).

This lead is made-to-order and we are likely to contact you to confirm before making.

Customising to your colour choice is included in the price.

Because this is custom-made we don't accept returns (unless of course the product is faulty) so please be confident in your colour choices before ordering.

LENGTH

The Double Twist leather lead is approx 130cm (about 51-inches) long including the handle and trigger hook.

THICKNESS

Small is approx 8mm thick (plus seam) per strand. Proportionally smaller hook.

Medium is approx 1cm thick plus seam per strand with a standard size hook.

BIG DOG is the same thickness as Medium but furnished with a substantial closing hook.

A cleaning with dubbin or saddle soap, then buffed up with a leather restorative like Neat's Foot Oil or a beeswax product (e.g. Renapur or Leather Genie) will help restore the leather to its natural lustre and protect it against the elements.

To help ensure the longevity of your dog's leather collar, allow to air-dry (not on a radiator) after it gets wet and ensure it is dry before re-using.

Do not allow the leather to come into contact with the chemicals from commercially-available flea spot-on treatments. This will damage the leather and may cause the dye to run.
