Some things deserve to be complicated. Putting a harness on your dog isn't one of them.

That was one of the ideas behind The D&H Cradle, our new rolled soft leather step-in harness.

The principle is beautifully simple. Your dog steps in with their front paws, the harness fastens across the back, you attach the lead — and you're ready to go.

Step in. Fasten. Go.

 

 

But simplicity doesn't mean we've skimped on the details.

The Cradle is handmade from beautifully soft leather, using traditional leatherworking skills and proper metal fittings. Instead of broad panels of fabric or webbing, two softly rolled leather cradle straps sit around the dog's chest, helping to minimise the amount of material in contact with the body.

That makes The Cradle particularly lovely for dogs with woolly, curly, silky or longer coats. The smooth rolled leather helps reduce friction against the coat — and with it, the knots and tangles that can develop beneath a conventional harness.

We've also designed The Cradle with freedom of movement in mind. Its step-in construction keeps the shoulders free, while the adjustable leather bridge across the back helps achieve a comfortable fit.

And because dogs don't all come in conveniently standard shapes, The Cradle is available in seven sizes, from the very small to considerably less small.
