D&H Traditional Cotton Rope Slip Lead Tan

Handmade at our London workshop. 

Durable, long-lasting classic rope lead, 8mm thick*, with solid brass O-ring plus heavier (thicker) hide leather elements at the handle joint and the end-point (where the metal O-ring is secured). 

Three colour combinations available.

Natural with dark brown hide leather.

Natural with black hide leather.

Natural with light tan hide leather.   

* we also offer in 10mm thick but this is currently sold out

Important note about slip lead usage: slip leads are used commonly by show dog and gun dog handlers as well as in kennels and dog groomers and, with correct and safe use, they are ideal for most dogs. The slip lead is not appropriate for all breeds however and we recommend you understand correct and safe handling of a slip lead before using.

The rope slip lead measures approx 155cm including the handle. You will need to account for how much length remaining after you have looped some of the length over your dog's head.

A cleaning with dubbin or saddle soap, then buffed up with a leather restorative like Neat's Foot Oil or a beeswax product (e.g. Renapur or Leather Genie) will help restore the leather to its natural lustre and protect it against the elements.

To help ensure the longevity of your dog's leather collar, allow to air-dry (not on a radiator) after it gets wet and ensure it is dry before re-using.

Do not allow the leather to come into contact with the chemicals from commercially-available flea spot-on treatments. This will damage the leather and may cause the dye to run.
