Care Instructions

A cleaning with dubbin or saddle soap, then buffed up with a leather restorative like Neat's Foot Oil or a beeswax product (e.g. Renapur or Leather Genie) will help restore the leather to its natural lustre and protect it against the elements.

To help ensure the longevity of your dog's leather collar, allow to air-dry (not on a radiator) after it gets wet and ensure it is dry before re-using.

Do not allow the leather to come into contact with the chemicals from commercially-available flea spot-on treatments. This will damage the leather and may cause the dye to run.

Disappointed

Bigger than expected and certainly not soft.

HI Kathleen. If it's too big not a problem to exchange. Or if you mean 'too thick' we can also make in a narrower gauge. Re the softness, it is made of a soft leather but the internal rope cord might initially be a little stiff - this becomes more pliable with time and wear. Never a problem to contact us directly and make sure you're 100% happy with the collar for your dog. Please just email Kristian at the workshop on hello@dogsandhorses.co.uk

This collar looks good on

This collar looks good on my brown poodle but the metal loop that we attach the lead to is a bit small so difficult to put the lead on. My dog has worn it for about 10 days and it has already marked where it buckles up. I’m not sure it’s suitable for daily wear.

thanks for your feedback Madeline. We can always make with a bigger D-ring if the hook on your lead is a bit big for the D-ring? (it's possible for us to do this after the fact too if you like - simply send an email to Kristian at the workshop on hello@dogsandhorses.co.uk). Thanks again!
