Materials
Made of soft European leather battle-tested against the elements.
Colour-fast (will not leech dye onto your dog's coat)*
Solid brass or nickel-plated (silver) solid load-bearing fittings to ensure strength of the collar and security of your dog.
Full-grain hide leather (thicker/stiffer) at the handle joint and end-tip of the lead to secure the hook.
*do not allow the leather to come into contact with chemicals from liquid flea treatments
Care Instructions
A cleaning with dubbin or saddle soap, then buffed with a leather restorative like Neat's Foot Oil or a beeswax product (e.g. Renapur or Leather Genie) will help restore the leather to its natural lustre and protect it against the elements.
Leather and Water. To help ensure the longevity of your dog's leather collar, allow to air-dry (not on a radiator) after it gets wet and ensure it is dry before re-using. Treat with a leather restorative, as above. Although we seal the edges, water can still infiltrate the leather and cause it to deteriorate (cleaning with a damp cloth and a mild non-abrasive cleaner is also fine though always advisable to test to ensure colour does not lift).
Regular Inspection. We encourage regular hands-on inspection and cleaning of your items to ensure against wear and tear as well as the comfort and security of your dog.
Do not allow the leather to come into contact with the chemicals from commercially-available flea spot-on treatments. This will damage the leather and may cause the dye to run (this applies to all leather - including car seats or leather upholstered furniture).
Beautiful quality and outstanding workmanship.
Great
I have just purchased four sets of D&H rolled collar with matching leads and happy with overall experience, quality and delivery. Thank you.
As always , and since many years…I’m big and loyal customer of D&H. I’m happy owner of 5 dogs and we have a policy for leather collars in our house…. Only form D&H. It is because we love our dogs, and the quality of the leather plus craftsmanship is top notch.
And also it is worth to add how brilliant is customer service, I’m so fussy and “difficult” customer always wanting bespoke stuff…. AND I AM SO SATISFIED. My needs are always promptly addressed and everything double checked and confirmed. I can’t express myself enough how much I adore and appreciate D&H 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶💚💚💚💚💚
